I didn’t think of it originally, but after doing so much research, I decided looking into folding camping chairs wouldn’t be a bad idea. I like to go camping twice a year into various wilderness and isolated areas across the nation like Colorado, New Mexico, Alaska, and even Vancouver (yes, I know Vancouver isn’t in the US). Anyways, a padded folding chair for camping could make since as I always use some rickety aluminum lawn chair I’ve had since 1993 so now I’m looking around for a camping folding chair.

I loved the look of Cabella’s Ultra Premium Chase Lounger. It’s hard to resist buying right now because it’s marked down from $149.99 to $59.99. It’s got a tray for a drink and your cell phone and reviewers have said it’s one of the most comfortable chairs around. I love the idea of just relaxing and melting away while I gaze out over the woods and river. Great quality and super sturdy. Te Cabella’s Ultra Premium can hold heavy or tall people like they are perched on a cloud. The only con is it’s heavy but otherwise this looks like the perfect camping fold chair. I like the orange and gray colors so I’ll have a hard time choosing if I buy this one.

Although I’m not a turkey hunter, another great folding chair from Cabela’s was the Cabela’s Seclusion Gobbler Lounger. This one is made specifically for turkey hunting as the name indicates but can easily work for hunting deer or any other ground hunting. Keeps you very low to the ground but is super comfortable because your legs are free and won’t get the circulation cut. Again, this outdoor folding chair is made for tall people and the feature that caps it off is the front legs on the Gobbler Lounger are longer than the back so even if you’re on a slope, it gives you stability. This is also on sale but for only $19.99, 33% off regular price at $29.99. You can’t beat that price for hours of comfortable, low to the ground sitting.

After two great finds, I couldn’t bring myself to leave Cabela’s and I took a look at the The Magnum Director’s Chair. They also had a standard, but the max weight on it was 250 lbs with a back rest of 32 inches. The Magnum was 325 lbs and 39 inches. These cool folding lawn chairs have a fold out platform for placing your food or whatever else. You can’t lean back in this folding camp chair, but you will be super comfortable whether you’re big, tall, or short. As you know, I’m a researcher so I need to look at other website before I buy, but I definitely got some good ideas on the standard to look for.

There are two categories of padded folding chairs: removable pads and built-in pad chairs. In this blog, I’ll discuss benefits and disadvantages of the attached pads while reviewing some of the top folding chairs padded.

Costco has the Hon Steel Folding Chair with vinyl seat. These come in the color beige and can be bought in a four pack for $84.09. This comes to roughly $21 pretax. These are your standard looking foldable chairs but obviously the difference from the straight metal is these have the slightly padded vinyl. This enhances comfort, but will still be uncomfortable to sit in for any extended period of time. These would look good with complementary buffet furniture. We’ll now move on to a model with more cushion.

You won’t win any interior decorating awards but the Samsonite cushioned folding chair has a thick commercial fabric upholstery padding on both the seat and contour back. However, the price is $139.88 for just one (I didn’t see it say set of 4 anywhere) at LivingInComfort.com. The problem here is there is no chance you buy these in bulk to host an event and even if you rent them the cost is still going to be outrageous. Even if you can swing the price, why wouldn’t you get a better design? These have a 1970s, drab industrial look to them so we’ll continue on.

The Global Designs cushioned folding chair is out of stock at Amazon.com, but they may get this one back in again. It really doesn’t look like your standard church folding chair. It actually looks more living a dining room chair. The wood is solid with a walnut color finish and the seat is very soft with a microfiber touch.

Sears has the beautiful Samsonite XL Series folding chair cushioned for $289.99 for 4. This comes to about $73 a piece pretax. The color is all black and the seats are made for larger people. Sears says the seat is 13% larger than the traditional folding chair. The seat and back cover are both made of soft microfiber and the color is all black for a chair that could easily blend at a night time event.

Wal-Mart has very good prices on padded folding chairs. If you search for the Hercules folding chair, there are two levels of cushion available. One has padding of one inch thick and the other is two and a half inches pad for super padding. As an added bonus, they are basically selling these at sale prices. The one inch is only $86 and the 2.5 inches is $99. Both prices are for four packs.

Have you thought about getting wooden folding chairs?
